A cover of Tommy James and the Shondells 1968 hit single.
The inspiration for this song came from a sign on the top of The Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York building at 1740 Broadway in Manhattan. It was spelled out using the common acronym MONY. This stood for Mutual Of New York. MONY is generally pronounced with the "e" as "money".
This song became the MONY employee's theme song. The crowd would go wild at the employee clambakes when the DJ queued this song up.
